Change of Management, Koita Centre for Digital Oncology (KCDO) and National Cancer Grid (NCG) appoints Mr. Santosh Patil as CEO NCG-KCDO

The Koita Centre for Digital Oncology (KCDO) announces an important change in leadership, marking the next phase of its journey in driving digital innovation in cancer care.

Mr. Santosh Patil takes over management responsibilities from Mr. Nikesh Shah, who has played a pivotal role in strengthening the vision and execution capacity of KCDO in recent years. We extend our sincere gratitude to Nikesh for his contributions and leadership.

Santosh brings with him over 23 years of IT experience, including 19 years in healthcare, with deep expertise in healthcare applications, EMR development, HIE platform engineering, imaging modalities, and interoperability. He has managed diverse teams and client projects, working with strategic customers to ensure delivery excellence and business growth. As a leader, Santosh has consistently demonstrated the ability to:

• Strategize with business leaders on financial health and market growth.
• Leverage strong healthcare domain knowledge to guide engineering teams 
• Address technical and people challenges to ensure team motivation and productivity
• Explore innovative solutions, including GenAI platforms for implementation and productivity gains

His certifications include PMP, CPHIMS, HL7 v2.5 & v3.0 Control Specialist, and AWS Cloud Architect, complementing his postgraduate degree in Computer Applications. Santosh’s rich background positions him strongly to accelerate KCDO’s mission of transforming cancer care through technology, data, and collaboration. Santosh’s leadership will continue to advance the National Cancer Grid’s digital health agenda, developing impactful solutions for the 300+ NCG network hospitals.
