Advancing AI-Driven Innovation in Cancer Care

The National Cancer Grid (NCG) in collaboration with the India AI Mission, are proud to participate in the India AI Summit 2026 - a global convening of AI leaders, policymakers, innovators, and technology enablers.

Our presence at the Summit reflects a shared commitment to accelerate the development and responsible deployment of AI-enabled solutions in cancer care, foster innovation, and strengthen collaboration across India’s healthcare and technology ecosystem.

Showcasing AI Innovation in Oncology

At the Summit, NCG-KCDO will spotlight emerging AI solutions addressing real-world challenges across the cancer care continuum - from screening and diagnostics to clinical decision support, patient engagement, and research enablement. These solutions have been identified through structured evaluation processes focused on clinical relevance, technical maturity, scalability, and readiness for deployment across NCG institutions.

Approach:

Below are our preliminary thoughts on the approach, centered around Accelerate - Promote - Transform Framework

Accelerate

Development of new AI-ML solutions by health tech companies

  • Identify and define NCG priority areas of focus and drive innovation.
  • Define validation methodology for testing AI-ML models.
  • Create open-source NCG Oncology Databank for training / validation.
  • Facilitate “piloting of new solutions” within NCG centres.

Promote

Use of proven AI-ML solutions across NCG centres

  • Validate AI-ML solutions based on NCG-defined guidelines.
  • Negotiate commercial terms to ensure attractive pricing for NCG centres.
  • Share case studies of successful use of specific AI-ML solutions with NCG centres to drive adoption
  • Host AI-ML solutions accessed by NCG centres (if needed).

Transform

Cancer care by leveraging AI-ML technologies

  • Enable healthcare professionals to define new areas to leverage AI-ML.
  • Collaborate with academic and research institutions to brainstorm and identify how new AI-ML technologies can be used to solve hard healthcare problems.
  • Define “big hairy problems”, create clinical / technical teams and funding needed to attack them with long-term R&D focus.
