Building on the success of the NCG EMR initiative, the NCG Radiology Synoptic Reporting Initiative marks a significant step toward enhancing the consistency, quality, and comprehensiveness of radiology reporting in oncology.
Developed with the expertise of experienced radiologists from NCG member hospitals, this initiative includes over 20 synoptic reporting templates specifically designed for cancer care. These templates align with national and international standards, incorporating modality-specific parameters for CT and MRI to ensure structured, high-quality, and data-driven reporting.
The templates were officially launched at the 23rd Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology (AOCR) 2025 in Chennai, where they received appreciation from an audience of more than 10,000 radiologists.
Endorsed by the Indian College of Radiology and Imaging (ICRI) and the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), these templates represent an important step in standardizing oncology radiology reporting across India. With the backing of these institutions, broader adoption is expected, ensuring greater precision, uniformity, and efficiency in cancer imaging reports. The templates can be accessed at here.
