Kamla Nehru Memorial Hospital (KNMH), a 200-bedded charitable trust hospital based in Prayagraj, is the latest to join the Onco-EMR Adoption movement with the successful implementation of a comprehensive Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
KNMH has been a pillar of affordable and high-quality cancer care for patients across Uttar Pradesh and neighboring regions. Prior to this transition, the hospital relied on a basic software system that primarily recorded clinical and discharge notes as free-flow text. While functional at a surface level, the previous system severely limited the hospital's ability to conduct clinical data analytics, compromised structured reporting, and was further burdened by inadequate vendor support - forcing KNMH to manage the system internally.
Recognizing the pressing need for a more robust and future-ready digital backbone, KNMH embraced the NCG-KCDO Onco-EMR initiative. After careful evaluation, KNMH selected one of the six empaneled EMR vendors to lead their digital transformation journey. The new system is designed to deliver not just core clinical features and full implementation of the NCG EMR Requirements (NER) standards laid out by NCG, but also aims to achieve M3 level certification under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
Importantly, KNMH places its trust in the collaborative framework of NCG's EMR initiative - ensuring that the selected software will continue to evolve with inputs from oncology domain experts, offering advanced interoperability, clinical data analytics, and reporting capabilities.
This digital leap is not merely about technology adoption; it signifies KNMH's commitment to advancing cancer care with data-driven insights, patient-centric workflows, and continuous innovation. We look forward to sharing more milestones as KNMH and other healthcare providers continue their digital health journeys.
